Getting to Manchester
By Train
There are three main stations in the city centre: Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Victoria. With direct rail services from across the country, getting here is easy. Operators include: Avanti West Coast, TransPennine Express, CrossCountry Trains, Great Western Railway and Northern Rail.

National Express and Megabus provide services from all over the country into Chorlton Street Coach Station in the heart of the city centre.
Manchester Airport to Manchester City Centre
Manchester Airport is approximately 9 miles south of Manchester city centre and is well connected by public transport.
By Train
The quickest option
Direct trains run regularly from Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly, in the heart of the city centre. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes, with services running around every 10 minutes, seven days a week. The airport train station is located within the airport complex and is connected to the terminals by covered walkways and moving walkways.
By Tram
The Metrolink tram provides a direct connection between Manchester Airport and the city centre, with services running to Victoria via Market Street. The journey takes longer than the train but provides convenient access to several locations within central Manchester. Trams generally run every 15 minutes, although frequencies can vary.
By Bus
The Bee Network provides regular bus services between Manchester Airport and the city centre. The 43 bus operates between the airport and Piccadilly Gardens, with other services also connecting the airport with destinations across Greater Manchester. Bus services operate throughout the day, including 24-hour services.
By Taxi
Taxis are available directly from the airport and offer a convenient door-to-door option, particularly for those travelling with luggage or as part of a group. Journey times can vary depending on traffic, but the city centre is typically around 20–30 minutes by road.
